Meetings & Trainings

Increase in milk production efficiency requires constant updating of knowledge about the proper nutrition of cows. In order to meet the market expectations, LNB Poland decided to organize a cycle of 3 trainings devoted to animal nutrition.

The first training took place on 3-4 December 2004 in the Gromada hotel in oma and was attended by more than 100 participants, including individual breeders and distributors of LNB Poland products.

The main lecturer was dr hab. Włodzimierz Nowak from Department of Animal Nutrition and Feed Management, Agricultural University of Poznań, who outlined the main principles of proper nutrition of cows in the perinatal period.

Presentations were also given by Sebastian Michalak and Jerzy Pastuszak, LNB Poland animal nutrition technologist.

Topic covered:

• Prof. dr hab. Tadeusz Harenza: Animal feed market in Poland , compared to the EU market.
• Dr Witold Nowak (Adisseo) Specialist products manufactured by Adisseo, developed for monogastric animals and heavy milkers.
• Dr hab. Włodzimierz Nowak Proper cow nutrition in the perinatal period
• Dr Marcin Kamiński (Lucta Polska) Selected issues concerning feed palatability - a new approach to animal feeding.
• Sebastian Michalak Methods of health improvement in a high-yield cow herd.
• Veterinary doctor Marek Czarnecki (Polnet) Presentation of zootechnical and veterinary equipment used on cattle farms.
• Jerzy Pastuszak New products for pigs offered by LNB Poland.

Two further meetings are scheduled to take place in January/February 2004 in the south of Poland and in Wielkopolska region.
