LNB Poland seminar - Feeding of monogastric animals

LNB organized a seminar concerning the nutrition of monogastric animals, which took place on 22-23 April 2004 in Licheń Stary and was attended by nearly 100 participants, mostly representatives of feed mixing plants and individual cattle producers.

Lectures were given by outstanding specialists from Poland and abroad. The topic of probiotics in growth stimulation was covered by the veterinary doctor Grzegorz Kowerski (Biochem Polska) and dr Marc Klook (Biochem GmbH, Germany). Another two lectures, given by Henk Enting (Schothorst Feed Research, the Netherlands), were devoted to poultry. Dr Erik Vanderbeke (Aveve, Belgium) discussed feed mix balancing with the AveMix enzyme, while dr Eugeni Roura (Lucta, Spain) tackled the issue of palatability of feed based on the results of research conducted by Lucta.

On the second day of the seminar, lectures were given by dr hab. Krzysztof Lipiński (University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn) who discussed nutrition-determined causes of diarrhoea in turkeys and dr n. wet. Jacek Boruta (General Veterinary Inspectorate, Animal Feedingstuffs, Pharmacy and Disposal Office).
